Reading Time and Word Count

iA Writer Pro for Mac shows you character, word, and sentence counts for your document in the Statistics section of the Sidebar. iA Writer Pro also includes Reading Time — an indication of how long the average reader would take to read the text.

Open iA Writer Pro

Reading Time, Characters, Words, and Sentences for a document in the Statistics section of the Sidebar.

When you select some text, the figures change to reflect the selection.

Reading Time, Characters, Words, and Sentences update to reflect a selection, and use the selection color.

These figures recalculate when you pause for a moment.
